Tegan is a qualified holistic health practitioner. She specialises in Ayurvedic Medicine, Naturopathy, Holistic Nutrition and Herbal Medicine, and is also a RTY 200 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher. Tegan’s work combines ancient mind/body medicine with the fruits of modern medical research, offering her clients practical advice for achieving health, happiness and vibrancy. Tegan is passionate about sharing the body of knowledge she has built up over her years of study, supporting others on their own journey to health and happiness.

Wisdom of Wellness Workshop Series
In this Wisdom of Wellness series, we’ll dive deeper into all aspects of Ayurvedic Medicine. The wisdom of Ayurveda can help you to create and maintain health and balance in your life. This course will present Ayurveda in a practical way to make it understandable for everyone and so it can be easily integrated into daily life.
This workshop series at Sukhavati is designed to give you the tools and techniques for understanding your body’s changing needs through the year and the different stages of your life. It is the little routines we cultivate each day which have the power to either enhance our health or undermine it. Learn how to live use food as medicine, live in accordance with your unique constitution, and how to make smarter choices in your daily routines to create vibrant energy and support your evolution into a healthier, happier you!
Session 1- Introduction to Ayurveda
This session we will dive into the history and philosophy of this ancient science. We will learn the fundamental principles, its aims, and discover why this science is not only a medical system, but a way of life. Learn the view of the mind and body form the Vedic perspective, and why it’s important to cultivate the quality of Sattva (peace, tranquillity, wisdom).
Session 2 – The Doshas – Mind Body Types
Through understanding our connectedness to Nature, Ayurveda sees each person as a unique combination of the Doshas. These form different body types, personality traits, and tendencies for specific diseases. This session we dive into the unique Doshas, we will learn their importance and influence on the body, mind and emotions.
You will understand the imbalances that your unique body type predisposes you to, and learn simple remedies including herbal teas and food as medicine to prevent and treat disease before it arises.
Session 3 – Ayurvedic Nutrition, Toxins, and the disease process
‘When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When Diet is correct, medicine is of no need’ – Ancient Ayurvedic proverb.
Ayurveda places a great emphasis on food as medicine. But according to Ayurveda we are not only ‘what we eat’, but ‘what we digest’.
This session we will look at the digestive system and why it is the most important system of the body that can create perfect health, or lead us down the path of disease.
We will look at the Ayurvedic view of toxins and the disease process, and learn simple and practical dietary remedies to support strong digestion, immunity and energy.
This is an insightful session and provides invaluable knowledge and practicals tools for disease prevention.
Session 4 – The daily Routine
Dinacharya (The Daily Routine) takes advantage of the shifting qualities in each time of day, season, and environment to determine the best activity to engage in and when to engage in it to maintain balance in the physiology.
In this session, we will learn the optimal daily routine according to Ayurveda. Learn ancient Ayurvedic lifestyle practices, eating practices and seasonal regimens.
