When was your very first introduction to Yoga and Ayurveda?
I was first introduced to Ayurveda and Yoga at the Maharishi Primary School. We learnt about the basic foundations of Ayurveda and Sanskrit from prep to grade 6. We would also perform Surya Namaskar every morning before meditation.

When did you decide to dedicate yourself to yoga personally and professionally?
My interest in Yoga really began to develop in 2013 when I started practicing by myself and attending some group classes. But it wasn’t until 2015 that I decided to pursue yoga more closely. I completed my YTT level 1 (200HR) with Santosha Yoga Academy in Bali.

What do you love most about practicing yoga?
I love the peace that creates in me. The entire philosophy of yoga along with the physical postures has taught me a lot and has given me a lot in the sense of peace and tranquility, both physically and mentally. I carry less stiff

Whats your favourite Asana and why?
Im not sure I could pick 1 single Asana. But my favorite practice would be Surya Namaskar because of its dynamic flow and full body movements. It opens up my entire body and leaves me feeling light, fresh and invigorated.

Why did you decide to study Ayurveda?
I have always been interested in health and I have always tried different diets and lifestyles to see which gives me the greatest state of mental clarity and wellbeing. What I discovered was that what I had been searching for, I had known about my entire life, the science of Ayurveda. Ayurveda gives the knowledge, understanding and application necessary to create a life that is in balance with nature. No other science that I have heard of has such a holistic and effective approach to creating health and harmony with in an individual. It was through applying the knowledge of Ayurveda that I was able to increase the quality of my life and my state of wellbeing left me in such a state of exalt that I wanted to further my knowledge as much as possible so I could help myself and everyone else improve their health/wellbeing.

Whats your favourite Ayurvedic Treatment?
There’s no question about it, Shirodhara would be my favorite treatment by far.

What do you find rewarding about being a Yoga instructor and Ayurvedic Therapist?
Im offering a service that will help improve the lives of others. There is nothing more rewarding than living for others and helping others enjoy the joys of life by helping to removing their sufferings.

Whats your favourite Quote?
There is alight in this world, a healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering, too much pain. Whats your favourite Yogic meal?
My favorite Yogic meal would probably have to be my home cooked chickpea and mixed vegetable dal with parathas and roast vegetables. With the right spices and a lot of love, this dish always leaves me feeling satisfied.

What does your morning routine look like?
Wake up at around 6am
Brush teeth and scrape tongue
Make detox drink (lemon, ginger and honey)
20 minutes of Yoga
20 minutes of Qi gong
20-40 minutes Meditation
Gym
Shower
Breakfast
Work

What are some of your other interests outside of Yoga and Ayurveda?
I attend weekly classes on Gnosis. I love practicing Qi Gong. I love socializing and doing activities with friends. Anything to do with nature; trekking, lying on the grass, walking my dog, kicking the footy at the park etc.
